What is SomnoGuard® 3?
SomnoGuard® 3 is our classic in the field of prefabricated oral appliances. The one-piece mandibular advancement device is used to treat snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), which is associated with breathing stops at night. During the fitting process, the lower jaw is advanced when biting into the thermoplastic material.- Easy fitting process

How does SomnoGuard® 3 work?
SomnoGuard® 3 is worn in the mouth at night. The oral appliance keeps the lower jaw slightly forward with the tongue. The upper airways are opened. The vibration and fluttering of the soft tissue in the throat (soft palate and uvula), which are responsible for the snoring noise, can be reduced or prevented.How is SomnoGuard® 3 fitted?
The one-piece oral appliance is fitted using the so-called "boil-and-bite method". It consists of a thermoplastic material that softens when heated in a hot water bath. With the lower jaw pushed forward slightly, bite into the warm material, whereupon a tooth impression is created. After subsequent cooling in cold water, the device retains the new shape with individual tooth impressions and a slight advancement of the lower jaw.For an optimal therapeutic result, it is recommended that SomnoGuard® 3 is fitted by a doctor (e.g. ENT doctor, doctor in a sleep laboratory, dentist) or their specialist staff.
The fitting process only takes about 10 minutes:
(Please also note the detailed instructions for use.)- Heat the device in hot water for about 20 seconds.
- Bite into the soft material with your lower jaw slightly protruded. It forms according to the teeth.
- Cool the device in cold water so that the material hardens again.
Who is SomnoGuard® 3 suitable for?
SomnoGuard® 3 is suitable for most jaw sizes. A prerequisite for this model is unhindered nasal breathing. If there is any uncertainty in assessing the condition of the teeth or if there are pronounced tooth or bite misalignments, a dentist should be consulted before the start of treatment.Material:
The thermoplastic material is medically safe and biocompatible. It contains no allergens, no latex, no silicone and no plasticizers (such as BPA).Accesories:
Each prefabricated SomnoGuard® mandibular advancement device comes with a storage box, which makes it a practical travel companion. For gentle care of our prefabricated oral appliances, we recommend the Curaprox "daily" cleaning gel (daily cleaning) and Curaprox "weekly" cleaning concentrate (weekly intensive care).SomnoGuard® 3 is patented.
