How does the SomnoStick® work?
Based on the patient's normal bite situation and the maximum possible lower jaw advancement, the individually suitable lower jaw advancement of the protrusion splint can be determined.
How is the SomnoStick® used?
First, the stick is inserted into the patient's mouth so that the upper incisors are positioned in the notch of the stick. The normal position of the lower front teeth is first marked on the scale. The second mark is made at the position of the lower anterior teeth at maximum mandibular advancement.
The distance between the two markings corresponds to the patient's maximum possible lower jaw protrusion. Now the individually suitable lower jaw advancement for the protrusion splint can be calculated (e.g. 50% of the maximum possible advancement).
